Nigel Holmes (former Graphic Director of TIME Magazine), who openly recognizes the influence on Muybridge on his work, gives a 2008 presentation on the challenges of communicating graphic ideas in today’s changing communication environments.

Like golf or tennis? We’re so used to seeing motion graphics nowadays, it’s easy to forget the influence Muybridge has on instruction manuals we see everyday.

“The Man Who Made Pictures Move” - a very informative article by NPR demonstrating how Muybridge made photography a medium about time and motion, and that Muybridge remains one of the important bridges between art and science.

While the title of this short paper sounds geeky, in fact even if you only look at the pictures of this article it gives us a really interesting survey of a brief history of how we visualise our information

A recent article from the tech-magazine Wired gives a nice summary of the ground-breaking horse photographs by Muybridge.
